You beat me to it, GD. I just wrote another nothing post, and was about to upload it.

The title: ‘Got Any Tips For Me?’ I ask for help tracking down certain information on Hamelin, late sixteenth century. I’ve found pathetically little physical description. I’ll save it for another day when it seems nothing new is prepared by anyone else.

So, people, if you don’t want to hear about Hamelin, get busy on something else.

Thanks, Mimi. And whenever you do post a request for information, I’ll link to it from my Facebook. Y’never know what expertise lurks there.

My hat’s off to you, GD, for chasing all this down. Are you doing any writing?

I had high hopes for Gluckel of Hameln. A memoir written about eighty years after my time. Alas, it is mostly intimate details of her household. I find nice period phrases I can use, but not much else.

If I have to, I’ll resort to my usual trick (in the footnotes): Folks, I made this stuff up, based on what info I have been able to find. If I’ve got it way wrong, let me know.

Interesting idea, Mimi. Ask your readers for more info. That could actually engage your readers in your works. Make them solid fans.

& yup, I’m writing. I have a short story coming out this year in an anthology -not The Rabbit Hole; another one to finish up, an idea to split “Bob vs The Aliens” into short stories and a serious novel. The novel may interest you -remember the most intense experiences of your life and imagine how you might write them. Me, I’m at the very early phase of trying to remember them with clarity.

I already practice seven of those rich peoples’ hobbies.

Now I just have to get rich. That may not happen through my writing, though.

I haven’t read all the material yet, but I see valuable information in the 2018 Book Predictions. I will read all this weekend, after I’ve pulled myself together.

I had a scare with my Imac this morning, spent half an hour on the phone with Apple Help. My screen was going black a few seconds after every time I got it up. I was led through various fixes, no luck. Finally he advised upgrading my operating system, this go-dark thing is a glitch with the one I had. I am upgraded and all seems to be well. What a horrible morning!

Ack! I hate computer glitches. Hope you’re backing everything up as you go. My netbook automatically preserves my deathless prose on the cloud.

My wife and I moved to our current hobby farm in 2010. It has taken a while, but we now have a plumber, an auto mechanic, a building contractor, a snow plower, a hay farmer, a farrier, a horse vet, and IT consultants. Life is easy now.

Our IT guys, a couple of brothers, opened their business about the same time we moved here. I was one of their first customers. They handle my software, hardware, and connectivity issues. When I went in with a software problem, the guy said, “I can fix this for you right now for $29, or I can tell you how to fix it yourself for free.” Lke I said, life is easy now.

A very basic question: if you have your thing on KU, can you also sell it whole on Amazon? At the same time?
